Estabrook PTO: Week of March 16, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians of the Estabrook Community,

We sincerely hope that everyone is staying well. We know this is a significant disruption to the routine for so many, and as a PTO we are focused on supporting our staff, faculty, parents, and especially children during this time.

One of the ways in which we hope we can all support each other is by sharing ideas for at-home learning activities. If you have concerns about how to maintain your child's enthusiasm for learning during these two weeks away from the classroom, we would love to hear from you! We would greatly appreciate if everyone can submit at-home learning activity ideas through the following form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfHZ4bQVAUeO0sqU5d6iqIcvgtJGi8aec_TF8LoQkm_mnjt2w/viewform?usp=sf_link

If you have an idea to share, please do submit it, and our site administrators will post your suggestions at the following link: https://estabrookpto.org/at-home-learning-activities/

Please bookmark this page and feel free to check back, as we plan to regularly update the page throughout the day in order to incorporate new ideas as they are submitted.

Additionally, if you have books, learning materials, or other supplies that you are willing to lend or give to others in need, or if you are in need of those items, please use the Estabrook Google group during this time to post offers and wants. Please note: We ask that anyone who borrows an item from a community neighbor please return the item within two weeks in the same or better condition than when it is borrowed unless the lender specifically states otherwise.

You can subscribe to the Google group by emailing:

Thank you all for working together to make this transitional time go as smoothly as possible!

Lexington Community Help Request/Volunteer Sign-Up!

Dear Lexington residents,

At the Community COVID-19 Forum last Thursday, one of the panelists Dr. Hua Wang mentioned that Chinese American Association of Lexington (CAAL) is organizing a volunteer group to help those families impacted by the novel coronavirus. We have received many positive feedbacks.

We created an online registration form to recruit volunteers to serve those families in isolation or quarantine with urgent needs, to help them contact doctors, purchase food, medicine and other needed goods, and more.

If you can help, please register with the form below. If you are in need of help for your family, please register below as well. We will find the match and address the needs as much as we can.

This is open to all Lexington residents who want to be a volunteer, or seek help.

We are all in this together and together we shall prevail!

Please register here: http://Covid19Help.WeForm.net

Thanks,
CAAL

Donate to the PTO through your everyday shopping! A portion of your purchases from Amazon and Stop & Shop can be donated directly to the Estabrook PTO. Black Earth Compost also offers a referral program for new subscribers. All of these programs are free to sign up for and there are no extra charges or fees. Click here to learn more and for signup links.

In addition to those donation programs, you (AND your friends, relatives, neighbors and co-workers!) can also contribute to the Estabrook PTO by:

  • collecting valid box tops in the Box Tops for Education program and depositing them into the box on top of the Lost & Found cabinets
