Crazy 8s Volunteers Still Needed for 3rd-5th Grade Group

Crazy 8s is an over-the-top recreational before school club that gets kids excited about math.  It offers high-energy math activities that appeal to kids of all math abilities. Participants build glow-in-the-dark structures, crack secret spy codes and play get-up-and-move games like Toilet Paper Olympics. Curriculum and materials are provided free by the Bedtime Math foundation.

Crazy 8s meets once a week for 8 weeks. Consistent attendance is needed in order for students to gain the most benefits from the program. Parent volunteers guide students through the kit activities.

Crazy 8s will be meeting on Fridays once we have enough parent volunteers. A minimum of 2 parent volunteers is needed per session. Please contact Allan Konar, at konarster@gmail.com, if you are able to help. ï»¿If this activity does not get one more volunteer by the end of the week, it will not run.

Run of the Mill Volunteers Needed!

We are looking for a couple of volunteers to help organize the Run of the Mill post-party!

Run of the Mill is one of our favorite events, in which kids and families join with the community to run to benefit the Estabrook School.

This is a great way to become involved with the PTO and community for working parents or parents who have more free time on the weekends or evenings.

Please contact volunteers@estabrookpto.org to find out more.

5th Grade Year Book Information

We are creating the yearbook for our students and we need your help in collecting and sharing photographs of the children during their years at Estabrook. Below are details on how to submit photos to the yearbook committee. Please review and start submitting as soon as you can. Deadline for photo submission is Sunday March 15th

Feel free to contact Amantha Tsaros
amanthatsaros@gmail.com with questions.

Submitting Photos for the 5th Grade Yearbook
• Gather and Prepare Your Photos For Submission
• Choose clear, well-lit photographs taken during school activities.
• You will be submitting  jpegs or png images. Some iPhone users may find that their phone shoots HEIC images. You must export them into jpg format. Google will help you find instructions.
  • Rename each photo file using the correct format* as shown at the bottom of this page.
  •  To Submit Photos:
    • Go to this website: http://bit.ly/EstabrookYearbookPics
    • Register / Create your “Account”. This is the account you will use to order a yearbook in April.
    • Click on “Upload Photos”
    • Enter “Estabrook” in the “School Name” window and choose Estabrook Elementary
    • In the “Initial Uploads” Photo Category, Drag your properly-named photos; or Click on the “Browse” button and “Select” your properly-named photos.  Upload will take place.
    • You will not need to enter anything into the “Caption” window. We will sort the photos using the file names.
    • When finished, Log Out.

*Please understand that the labeling format allows us to know who is in the photo and what grade level the photo belongs to. Without the proper label we cannot tell where the photo should go in the yearbook. We cannot use any images that are uploaded with the original file names such as “IMG7892”.

*Filename Format:
Rename the files as follows:
Grade #_Category_Last Name_First Initial_(letter if submitting multiple from one event)
Please use 0 for Kindergarten.

Examples:
I have one picture of Alex from a Kindergarten Big Back Yard walk.

I will label it:
0_BigBackyard_Tsaros_A

I have three images of him from second grade party - they will be labelled:
2_ClassParty_Tsaros_A_a
2_ClassParty_Tsaros_A_b
2_ClassParty_Tsaros_A_c
